It was just another day in the Emergency Department -- until she was wheeled in through the doors. Amanda Parks, my childhood best friend's mom who I may or may not have secretly kissed before leaving for college. I haven't seen her in over a decade, and in so many ways, she hasn't changed. Same killer curves. Same hypnotizing eyes. Same reaction from my heart when I see her. But something new? There isn't a ring on her finger anymore... And I'm much more of a man than I was at eighteen. Washed Up is a stand-alone age gap medical romance coming this winter!

This is one of the books in the Bayside Heroes series. Each of the books has a different author but the characters arc throughout the series. It's interesting to see how each author has the characters interact with each other.

Washed Up features Amanda who is a 47-year-old mom and grandma who is in the midst of a nasty divorce and really learning who she is as a person. She is learning how to function in the world and is going to school. Her ex is an abusive alcoholic and she has a lot of scars (especially emotional ones). She has an accident and ends up needing surgery. Greg Weston is the doctor who helps Amanda with anesthesia. Greg was the best friend of Amanda's son and he's had a crush on her since he was 18. Now that he's grown, he finds he can't fight that attraction anymore.

I really enjoyed how much Amanda grew into herself throughout the book. I also liked that in this book, she was the older one, which is uncommon. I also liked how Greg helped her to find out who she was, even though he made it out like she was helping him to remember to have fun.
