Recs if you like Showa 1926-1939: A History of Japan...

If you have time to read all of "Inuyasha" or "One Piece" or "Dragonball", congratulations. I am envious. If you want to try out some manga series without dedicating years of your life, here's some shorter suggestions.

My attempt to get to know manga (and gekiga) though the medium itself. Starting with its roots in the 1940s post-war era and continuing with titles that had a major impact on its development.

Contains only works that are available in English translation. Multi-part works are listed with only the first volume.
