Sebastian Moncrieff met Countess Veronica Weatherstoke in a prior book, when he helped kidnap her & a friend with his pirate crew. He later betrays his captain and best pirate friend, Veronica thinks he’s a hot, arrogant, asshole, but hot.
They meet again on a train. He’s plotting to kill her asshole boss, she’s plotting to help bad boss’s daughter run away. Arguing and banter and lustful looks ensue.
The bad guy plot feels unfinished at the end, but it’s a novella and I was a little relieved we didn’t have a big fight scene at the end. This was really sexy and hot.
