    Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

Heavy on the mystery/thriller plot, lighter on the romance. Rus is a burned out, tired FBI agent. He’s about to retire when he closes this last case. Lucinda owns a burlesque theater, club and later we find out a huge hotel and half the real estate in town. They have instant attraction and their relationship builds from meeting and there’s no question both are in it. The real drama is the murder(s). It’s pretty graphic and gruesome. And there’s multiple sexual crimes. It was kind of a bananas crime solving plot.

KA sets up so many sequels with heros falling out of the pages. The widowed sheriff Harry, Jason and Jesse twin private detectives, Porter and Jaeger with hero names. And KLEO! Plus Rus’s kids. This might end up an 8 book series.

Note: this is on the Money Bags shelf because Lucinda is loaded.
