Recs if you like Dungeon Critters...

While it is highly celebrated in June, the Queer community exists all year long and this working list is created to support/encourage others to read more literature written by & represented people within said community.

Fluff to smut, including 18+ etc aka not exclusive to anything specific other than being queer content (queer & queer-rep inclusive stories). I have read a good handful of the ones now at the bottom of the list. Includes intended middle-grade-ish-level youth content to adult audience content.

D&D-esque inspired list. Ive seen a bunch but not exactly what I was looking for, which is essentially, "rag-tag team of misfits with different powers/strengths go on a quest and get into shenanigans" I.e. Legends and Latte wouldn't fit here because they're not questing. Also avoiding lit r.p.g like Dungeon Crawler Carl cause that feels like cheating 😝

A list of queer graphic novels! 🥰 I'll update this list as I go. Some of these have queerness as their main topic and some have queer side characters. For series I only added the first volume. Dungeons and Dragons themed books across different genres. Mostly YA, romance and fantasy. A non-exhaustive list of magical middle grade alternatives to the series which shall not be named. Only the first book of those that are part of a series is listed so as not to overwhelm. This will grow as more alternatives are found / published.

A few excellent graphic novels for kids! These books are mostly for Ages 6-15, but some vary. Double-check first before recommending them to a kid, you don't want to accidentally give a book that's too hard to read for them. It's already hard enough to encourage their love for reading without making it harder than it has to be! But, these are all still very good for reluctant readers.

Each year, for Chinese New Year, we do a rec list with books aligned to the Chinese zodiac animal for the year. Most of these books are queer, though often it's subtextual. Missing many standalone novels & works from universes not of their own creations (Like Marvel & DC) for now since there are sooo many (and I'm tired), but I will add them in the future whenever I feel like it.
