Memoirs by Contestants, Judges, and Hosts of Top Chef (USA). Only adding cookbooks that have a focus on story/history (for instance Carla Hall's Soul Food has a beautiful introduction, but not enough to make it a memoir). Open to suggestions and folks I may have missed! Bon appétit!

As I’m going through my phd comps reading list, I’ll add the books I’ve been reading. My major field is in oral history & memoir. This list is in the spirit of transparency for my research and accessibility for anyone who is interested in reading on this academic theme.
Further info: I’m in the dept of history and would like to write a food memoir as part of my dissertation, which is why you will see some of those on this list.
