Recs if you like Oathbound...

JK Rowling is a bigot who uses her platform to hurt transfolks and other marginalized groups (plus she literally just quoted Mein Kampf on the bird site). If you're still supporting her in 2025, don't bother talking to me.

Big vibes and big hair cover art books. (It's not a f*ckin 'cloud bob' Vogue).

Books that remind me of Florence and the Machines song King. Featuring strong female leads. "I need my golden crown of sorrow . My bloody sword to swing. My empty halls echo with grand self mythology." 🎶🎵

A mix of different books that all centre around the “dark academia” genre ✨

Nominees and winners of every category of the Good Reads Choice Awards for the year of 2025. Some books overlap so they were only entered once.

All the 2025 BOTM monthly, add on, and Allurial titles

Books that include whimscal magic that include queer characters.

For those who are interested in fantasy books that’s written by Black authors and the main characters are Black.

For those of you who subscribe to newlynova on either YouTube or TikTok, I have compiled a list of books that she has mentioned in her videos

This is the novels, novellas, novelettes (if they exists on Pagebound), first book of the series and one book from the best author that are nominated for a Hugo Award in 2026. I personally need an overview on what to catch on for the votes (closing beginning of August :))

Books about/inspired by Arthurian Legends

Feel free to add any others in the comments

I have been a long-time fan of Arthurian lit, to the point that I actually took two separate classes in University that covered themes of Arthurian tales, which also increased my library. These are books I actively own, and most of which I have read or at least used in my writing on the Arthurian Age. I do wish I could make comments on the books themselves, as several of these require a little explanation, but if you have any questions, feel free to leave questions or other book suggestions.

Own any translation dictionaries? No? Well, you might want to now.

These books will make you want to keep one by your side, be it for the various Chinese dialects, Latin, Old Welsh, Arabic, and so on that appear as quotes, vocab, or key references ~

Books that are paced relatively well and are action packed!! Page turners!

Lodestar Nominees: Among Ghosts • 🏆 Coffeeshop in an Alternate Universe • Holy Terrors • Oathbound • Sunrise on the Reaping • They Bloom at Night

Legend: 🏆 Winner • 🌌 Nebula Award Winner

I don't read certain problematic authors. So this list will not contain those people. These are books with good prose, writing, plots, characters, and some have impact (One of K. Le Guin's books is a Ghibli movie, and it reads like one). This list will be updated more and more as I continue to read peak.
