GASP! There was plot! The book contained the most plot of the trilogy but I stand by my assessment that this series is more about character development and world building than about the actual moving of chess pieces on the board.
I did really enjoy this trilogy and I loved getting to learn about Talia's character and the world of Heralds that she loves so much. There are some pretty heavy topics during this third installment though most things that happen are either mentioned briefly or when on page, not fully explained out and I appreciate that.
I do think the villain could have been fleshed out a bit more. We didn't see much of him during this book (though I think that's because the main villain of this book was the one who had "betrayed" them) but I do understand that he plays a larger part in future books.
Overall, this series was great and I will definitely pick up more from the world in the future.
