A series of books where Disney films didn't go quite the way we remember

Fairy tale Retelling ranging from YA to Adult (will be updating as I come across them)

There are so many books that take familiar Disney characters and give a little more. From standalones to series, I'm hoping to catch as many as I can!

Are you getting recommended the same fantasy books over and over? All of these books are over a year old and finished by less than 1000 people on PB. (YA and Adult, standalones and first books in a series)

Sometimes you want the literary equivalent of a Big Mac.

Reads that may not be the deepest, most plot-heavy stories…but they still feel like a familiar piece of candy.

Do they probably have a checklist of tropes they hit? Yeah.

Would somebody side-eye you for reading it? Maybe.

Do we care? No way! Sometimes you want the greasy burger!

(Suggestions welcome. First book in series if it’s not standalone.)

books that take inspiration from or are direct retellings of the classics, fairytales, myths, and legends.

Stories full of adventure, whimsy, friendship, and romance. Fairies, mermaids, and ordinary people finding magic in the everyday.✨

Books inspired by Disney, or published by Disney imprints

these are all books that i had a visceral reaction to and would absolutely read again, if i havent already. (except sotr. never again.) ive almost definitely thrown most of these across a room at some point, or gotten up to touch grass and regain some sanity, and at least half ive sobbed through. all of them ive given a 5 star rating to, simply because of how much they made me feel.

basically, just a big, long list of all my favourite books :)

Retellings of famous myths and other tales!
