REAL TALK EVERYONE - my list has gotten out of control and I am not even done!!! I am going to keep working on it (not today) AND I am going to make separate lists with the different stories because I found soooo many, even for the lesser known ones. When I do the separate ones, I will post comments here linking them.

Not suggesting you add this because I’m not sure this series retells the Grimm stories as much as it just incorporates some of the characters. But for anyone interested in a middle grade mystery series with strong female protagonists, there’s The Sisters Grimm series.

I don't know if this would fit the theme as a 'retelling' but theres the Unfortunate Fairytale series by Chanda Hahn, which follows the story of Wilhelmina (Mina) Grime, who is descended from the Grimm Brothers and is cursed to reenact different fairytales that they wrote in her real life. The first book is called UnEnchanted ❤️
