  • Help identifying an old Picture Book!

I saw someone do something similar on here about a week ago (?) and I wanted to try! There’s a book I used to LOVE when I was little. It was about a girl who lived in a blue house, and the entirety of the illustrations were done in different shades of blue. There wasn’t a single other color in the whole book. I also remember the linework looking rough, like it was drawn with crayon or something similar? I’ve never been able to find it, and I’m hoping someone on here knows what I’m talking about!

  • Finding super high overlap…

Is anyone on the hunt for someone with a crazy high percentage of overlap with you? I’m not talking about the new users who haven’t logged all of their books that it shows you in the overlap category. I’m super excited to find someone who has logged all of their reads and has like a 50% or higher overlap with me!

I think so far my highest number I’ve found is 36% which is obviously really good, but I think it would be so awesome to find like your simpatico reading friend that just absolutely meshes with your book taste that much.

Obviously it’s very unlikely to stumble upon them, but I think of it as the same idea as having doppelgƤngers. They’re out there, even if you don’t see them. So there should be others out there who match really well with your reading journey!

**ETA: I’m getting some downvotes and I feel like people think I only want to follow people with similar taste which is not the case at all 😭 I like genres all over the board in both non-fiction and fiction. Most of my favorite PB users read awesome obscure and unique books from every walk of life.

I have over 400 books in my finished shelf and I just think it would be fun to find someone with a ton of read books in common. They don’t even have to like the books it would just be cool to talk about them. All I meant was that I like that PB has the overlap as a tool to get to know other readers better and give you the potential to make crazy cool book besties.**

  • your big 3, book edition šŸŒžšŸ“šāœØ

exactly what the title suggests! this one's inspired by and for my fellow astrology enthusiasts on pagebound; for anyone who isn't familiar with the concept of a big three, in astrology, this encompasses your sun, moon and rising signs. for the sake of adapting the concept to fit in a more literary sense, think of it like the following:

sun: the book that's the most quintessentially you. this could be your all-time favorite book (a hard ask, i know!), the one you think best represents your favorite genre, or the one that you'd give someone if the challenge was to let them get to know you through a single book.

moon: the book that you just feel a connection to. maybe it's one you don't get the chance to talk about much, or maybe you do; this book is personal to you, and some part of it speaks to an inarticulable part of you.

ascendant: the book that most represents how you think other readers might see you. whether or not this is aligned with how you might see yourself is totally up to you. what genre vibe do you think you give off to someone who randomly stumbles on your profile, and what book comes to mind first when you think of one?

please have fun with this prompt! it came to me randomly today and felt like something that might challenge people to think a bit broader than just "what's my favorite book?" while hopefully being just as personal and fun to answer.
