This is a question that may cause some debate...
What was the last book you read that you were disappointed with? (DNF or Complete)
Mine was Darkest at Dusk by Eve Silver. It'd been a while since I read Gothic romance. And while I am glad I read it, it proved something I've been thinking about in relation to het romance, it was just so meh. Tropes galore and a frustrating ending.

Be it “I can fix them (no, really)” or “I know it’s inexcusable, but…” who’s your favourite villain that you’ve read and why?

Howdy boundlings! Here's a fun question:
What books do you love that you feel like no one else has read?
You know the one. You recommend it all the time and the forum never gets any new posts. Maybe it's an old favorite, maybe it's out of print or in a polarizing genre. Tell me about your underappreciated faves - maybe we can get some yoink trains going!
I'll go first - I adore Nightwatch on the Hinterlands by K. Eason. The worldbuilding is great, its like D&D in space, the MC is a strong lady orc paladin and her alien ambassador lizardfolk wizard bestie, plus the cyborgs that are exploring their new autonomy. They investigate weird murders, uncover conspiracies, and fight space Cthulhu monsters in fight scenes I would give my precious limbs to see played out on film or as a video game. It's a series, it has a sequel and seems to be ongoing, please read it I love it so much. And I love all of you ❤️ 💕 happy reading!

Question for all billingual readers, especially those with english as a second language. How do you approach what language to read in? I've met people who always prefer to read in english over their first language - even if the original was in a different language - and those who stick to translations only. And as an additional question, what language do you read the most in?
For me I almost always stick to the language the book was written in if possible, and if not I prefer to read in swedish, but there are exceptions to both. If the book is from a nordic country I will always read it in swedish since there's more of a linguistic and cultural overlap, for example. Sometimes it just comes down to what's available on my audiobook app or local stores. Overall I think it's about a 50/50 split in english and swedish for me, maybe leaning a bit more swedish. But I'm curious what it's like for others!

Girl, have you ever thought about TALKING to people instead of just making up your mind on your own about everyone. I hate all this miscommunication stuff. 🤦🏻♀️
