UGH, this is my favorite plot twist of this novel! I knew it was coming this time around and I got the subtle hints, but it still gets me how smart it is! Also, from this point forward, Sanderlanche is coming and I remember being unable to stop reading. I don't remember how certain things happened, so it will be interesting to re-read this final part.

oh, this book....damn you Adalyn, I did not expect to love Aris and Blythe SO MUCH. I sobbed my way through the final chapters and the epilogue and now I want MORE!

I forgot how TENSE this book is! It sees like everything bad is happening at the same time and when our MCs seem to have a win, they immediately get the rug pulled out from under them!

I love Cassie's writing and plotlines, they always makes me feel on the edge of my seat! I can't help but breeze through the novel, despite the long chapters. I also feel like her second novels are way more solid, once the plot and characters are well established and this was definitely true for this one - I enjoyed it much more than I did Sword Catcher! BUT, there's one thing that bummed me out and it's something I usually dislike in books - miscommunication. WHY CAN'T PEOPLE JUST TALK AND TELL EACH OTHER STUFF? I mean, it would not only avoid trouble but it's so unrealistic that two people who trust each other implicitly, who have been raised together and tell each other almost everything won't talk about some really important stuff! And that's the center conflict point in this book. Some thinks I can understand, but most of it...it just comes off as plot conveniece and it's a cheap way to move things along, imo. I do have to say, that, this issue aside, I was FLOORED with the plot twists, especially two characters who finally reaveal themselves! Did not see that coming at all! I'm really looking forward to the next installment, because this ending really hooked me! I'm a little scared because there's a lot to solve and maybe one book won't cut it.

I got what I wanted, I guess! But oooh, the plot thickens! What is the deal with the cemetery? And why do I have a theory that, if true, will make me sad?

When pausing a book do you come back to where you left off or do you start at the beginning again?? I realized that although I like the option of pausing a book I never used the feature, when I stop reading something (with the intent of reading it later) I reread the entire book instead of where I left off.

Well, isn't Kingfisher a bundle of joy. He's being a douche to Everlayne for not reason at all.
