disability fiction - fries test

Fiction that passes the Fries Test:

Does a work have more than one disabled character? Do the disabled characters have their own narrative purpose other than the education and profit of a nondisabled character? Is the character’s disability not eradicated either by curing or killing?

Thanks for this list! This makes me realize that I havent read enough books with disability representation and the ones I have arent on this list so I definitely need to be more aware of whats good disability representation and whats not

I didn't really take note of this myself until I became more disabled/ realised and accepted I was disabled! I have only read A Game of Thrones on this list and that was years ago. Well-written disabled characters are out there but unfortunately it's difficult to find in fiction, especially things with multiple disabled characters. 🙃

And btw I still need to add to this list, but some of the books at the link weren't on pagebound so I'm waiting until we can import books to pagebound again before I continue!!
