With the list approx. 50% coloured in the read, tbr, and interested tag, I think I unlocked a new role beyond pretentious. From bragging that I read them to "nuh-uh, please read them, it's legit!"

Lemme tell you, I grasped my white pearls when Les Mis is on the list. What's there's to brag, it's one of my holy bibles, respect it! /joking 😂😂

Haha, the idea behind the list was to collect all these books that I feel like if you have read, you officially have bragging rights, because they seem like "big brain" books lmao. For example if I see someone reading War and Peace on the train I would think "oo, they smart".

I'm so excited to start Les Mis sometimes soon! I have basically no idea what's it about, so going in blindly will def be fun haha

Hehehe, I still can't believe that I read so many to claim bragging rights! I do notice that it's less bragging rights and more fighting with people whether they read the same book as me - mostly white dudes who froth over a certain book to make a point when the classic says something entirely the opposite (cough Jordan Peterson cough).

Yessss, start with the famous brick!!! It's massive, but I absolutely love it. I recommend reading the abridged, like I did, and then move on to the unabridged. I'm a proud owner of the abridged and unabridged version ❀
