I've left out some books: 5 books on the beatles ('john', 'paul', 'george', 'ringo' and 'the true story of the beatles' all published in the 60s) because I couldn't find them yet and 'female-to-male transsexualism' by (i think) leslie martin lothstein, I didn't want it on the list without context, he wrote this about it:
'Unfortunately a new book has come out Female-to-Male Transsexualism by a psychoanalyst Erik knows, which seems to be very derogatory & misleading. Of course I need to have / read it, but I hate to buy it & support this jerk's work. Just the few sentences Erik read made me so mad (e.g. he wrote that testosterone doesn't change one's musculature & that the only treatment for the acne side effect is discontinuing the hormone).'
he also mentioned reading 2 books by a gay therapist he saw on a talk show in 1981. one book dealt with gay men supressing their feelings and the other with them needing to learn to enjoy their bodies. (there's a longer description in the book at about 56%) If anyone knows who/what books he is talking about please let me know!
