Ugh I love southern queers so much!!!! I am a PNW gay myself but I went to a small women's college in Georgia and the queer folks I met there changed me in ways I couldn't have imagined. When I was 18 I wouldn't have thought I'd end up with a Texan girl as my life partner lol

same!!! i'm from tennessee and ultimately will probably move elsewhere long-term if possible, but TN (specifically Memphis) will always be home in my heart

My advisor in undergrad was from Tennessee and the accent always takes me back to hanging out in her office with her, listening to her lengthy (undiagnosed adhd probably) tangent-filled rambles. Idk if you watch Weirdo Book Club but one of the reasons I clicked with her channel right away was because she sounded so much like my advisor. Anyway all that to say that wherever you go, people are going to hear you speak and feel at home for the weirdest, most random reasons :)

May I suggest Model Home by Rivers Solomon? I'm reading it right now and really loving it, it's set in Texas!
