Yay, this list made it to the voting 🎉

Yay! This one was my pick 🙂‍↕️ it's so hard with so many incredible choices, but this one just speaks to me 🧡

2

I nominated it too 🙂 oh hence, it was picked!

3

Oh wow you nominated it! I'm glad! It deserves it so much. I would've loved to nominate lists, too, but I wasn't a supporter (ironic that I am one now hahaha)

3

Yay!!! Thank you both for picking this list!!!

3

Hamnet is the perfect fit for this list, such a beautiful book!

3

Can I recommend 'It Lasts Forever and Then It's Over' as well? (If you're ok with additions, of course). It deals heavily with grief as well.

3

Yes I love additions! I’ll add it, thank you!

3

This was such a beautiful book 🌸

3

Incredibly beautiful. I try to mention it as many times as I can 😂.

2

So true. I think I heard about that book through the Ursula K. Le Guin Prize.

2

I wish I remembered where I heard about it. I think it was a booktok creator who recommended it among some other books. For all the flak that booktok gets, you can find some real gems out there if you look!

2

Did you readOn the Calculation of Volume I by Solvej Balle?

2

Oooh I remember this one from the 2025 International Booker Prize! I don't remember if it won, but it was one of the ones that interested me the most, though I'm now realizing I never put it in my TBR 😩. Is it good?

2

Very good. I think you will like it.

2

I think we have similar tastes, so I'll trust you on it!

2

Three of the books I read are memoirs.

Didion, Brooks and Macdonald

2

I realised later that literary fiction might not have been the right title for this list? Maybe I’ll change it to literary writings?

1

Yes — or maybe one of these, if you think they are appropriate:

A Literary Journey Through Grief

Stories and Reflections on Grief

Love, Loss, and Life: A Reading List on Grief

2

Love these suggestions, thank you!!

2

This is weird. I tried editing twice, then deleted and posted again. I don't know why the "Grief" on the first one is not showing up...

1

They show up for me, the three titles have "Grief" at the end right?

3

Oh, you can see that!? Why can't I?

2

No clue! Maybe you'll see it if you exit the app, delete it from your recently used, and then open it again.

1

Yeah I can see it too!
