Oh I’m happy you like the list! Thank you 🌱 Strangers is just lovely, and a fantastic collection of essays exploring non-human relationships. Definitely empathic, and also quite poetic. I love the way she writes, which is why I also added Witch to this list.
A book I also realise I forgot to add here is Donna Haraway’s “Staying with the Trouble”, which I think you might be interested in! She writes about the non-human, but also the more-than-human, where she brings in science fiction (and science fact) as a tool to write about ecological devastation, and exploring how to navigate these times we are in, and how to navigate them together with the non-human around us. So quite empathic too I’d say!
