May I ask which ones have queer elements? I've already consumed all of PZB and my favorite book of his is Drawing Blood! So especially anything similar 🌈❤️

Quick disclaimer: I haven't read every book I've listed, and I haven't had the chance to read PZB's works yet myself. So, I can't tell you how similar these books are to his.

Of the ones I have read, these are the one's with actual queer elements:

  1. The Color Purple - Celie, an African American lesbian, falls in love with Shug Avery, her abusive husband's bisexual mistress.
  2. Interview with the Vampire - Since this book came out in the 70s, the queerness is less explicit than in the current TV adaptation. But Anne Rice claimed that all her vampires are omnisexual.
  3. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof - Brick is either bisexual or just feeling really guilty. It depends on the production.
  4. Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil - This follows the real life trial of Jim Williams, an antiques dealer who was accused of killing his supposed lover Danny Hansford, a young white supremacist.

If any one has any other suggestions, please put them forward!

Also! Many academics have read both Darl Bundren (As I Lay Dying) and Quentin Compson (The Sound and the Fury) as queer, but since both are more implied than outright stated, I wasn't sure if should count them.
