This is a selection of some of my favourite short form horror. I have picked works by diverse authors + from different horror subgenres + touching on different themes. I invite you to explore your taste in horror through this list!
The list includes short stories, short story collections and novellas under 200 pages

Hello! I just wanted to add a little bit more info on this list and start a thread where people can leave recommendations.
I decided to make this list because, even though I joined PB relatively recently, I have seen many comments by people that want to get into horror but don't know where to start. My goal with this list is to make an accessible collection that anyone can use to explore the genre, so do ask in the comments if you want more specific info on any of the books included.
Horror can include very graphic and disturbing content so, especially if you are new to the genre, look up content warnings or ask in the comments before picking one of these up. I have made sure to also include horror that is very "mild" in terms of gore and violence (or straight up doesn't include any), so you should be able to find a few books you can try out even if you're not up for that kind of content!
For the books included in this list that I haven't yet read myself, you can find them in this shelf. This is also where I put recommendations for review.
Have fun reading, I hope you'll find something you'll like!
The Lottery is such a great collectionđ¤ I think Daisy Butcher's Evil Roots (Botanical Horror by Classics authors) Anthology and The Bloody Chamber (Gothic Fairytale short stories) by Angela Carter would be great editionsđĽ°đĽ°đĽ°

Thank you, I added both of them! The Bloody Chamber has been on my TBR forever so this is probably my sign to finally read it đ
Oh, do it!!! Angela Carter is one of my favourite writers and it has incredible stories in itđ¤ Thanks so much for adding my suggestionsđ

I'll go add it to my plan 𫡠And no worries, thank you for the suggestions! đ
