I wonder if the powers they get corresponds to how they died. Eli went underwater where he was frozen. Trapped in ice, frozen and unchanging. The ability to heal and never age feels like it correlates to this. Victor is being electrocuted right now, a dial literally upping his pain every time and then turning it off. Which is exactly what his power is. Just some thoughts! I love how scientific this whole book is as opposed to the explanations always being magic which I love don’t get me wrong, it’s just fun seeing smth diff.
