Chapter 4

• Edward Cullen is such a fun character because he’s so young and so old at the same time. Like his way of speaking is very old-timey but then he does things like give Bella the silent treatment when he’s the one being weird or cutting her off when they are both pulling out of the school’s parking lot. and it’s like oh yeah. he is a teenage boy.
• it’s deeply hilarious that Bella, at this point, is defined by her aversions and dislikes rather than her interests. This girl hates the cold, sports, dancing, she’s bored with school, doesn’t seem to care about her friends very much and doesn’t like hanging out with her dad. Like what does she do.
• obsessed with Edward spending this whole chapter going out of his way to rage bait Bella. the films do not do justice to how much he irritates the hell out of her

Chapter 5

• up until this point, I couldn’t tell if Jessica was actually a bitch because obviously Bella thinks she’s vapid and doesn’t listen when she talks but her attitude of “insulting astonishment” when Edward wanted to talk to Bella has officially put her on my shit list
• after my first read of the saga, I totally forgot how much early page time is spent on Mike and Eric for some reason. They annoy me so bad. Like where is Jacob Black???? I miss him!!
• omg first blood mention in the whole series
• okay i take back what i said about Bella not liking anything. Apparently she likes Debussy
