I've had the audiobook of this ever since it came out but until recently I had completely forgotten that this book exited. I love books that rif off of fairytales so I'm super intrigued by this book. But I've read some of King's works (Misery, Carrie) before and they can get quite dark and can lead to some triggers I'm not always cofortable reading about. So, how dark is this one? (also idk if there's any animal death but if there is pls tell me bc that's an immediate no for me.)
