I am having so many thoughts on the dual experience the Links experience as both a convict and a celebrity. Everyone hates them for committing crimes, but loves them for doing it in front of a camera. As a convict they are treated as less than humans, yet as celebrities they are revered as heroes with people going so far as to mimic their tattoos and hairstyles. As both a convict and celebrity, the Links are only objects of their entertainment, to which the public feel entitled to every piece of them. It draws remarkable parallels between prison and fame within America. The hypocrisy of the public in terms of what is moral and good, and what is evil, is insane! The lengths that people will go to claim that something is moral simply because they enjoy it, is simply mind-blowing!
