I just… I am constantly floored by Anne Rice’s writing!! That bolded line hit me square in the chest. A great encapsulation of Lestat’s character: raging through life until the grief catches up.
Also I can’t handle the way he is so tortured about Nicki and how awful it is to just abandon him and now Nicki has seemingly been captured by a vampire cult!!! Ugh poor sweet sad Nicki, you don’t deserve any of this.
