Perhaps this was obvious to other folks too, but it was so satisfying to read Armand’s description of the types of personalities that Lestat’s fledglings might have and realize that they definitely map onto them for real.
“Each time the death and the awakening will ravage the mortal spirit, so that one will hate you for taking his life (Louis), another will run to excesses that you scorn (Gabrielle). A third will emerge mad and raving (Nicki), another a monster you cannot control (Claudia).”
And Armand’s insistence on there always being a veil between a vampire and their fledglings so that no matter how many you make you will always feel alone. And the only way to not feel alone is to be with other vampires, like him. Sounds true, but also sounds manipulative!!
