At first I was really enjoying this overall, but by about 20-25% I started to get concerned about the level of detail & somewhat meandering, verbose writing.
Now that I’m farther along it’s getting worse & I’m questioning if I should just DNF now as there seems to be a good chance that I’ll force myself through it only to be disappointed by the end.
Im fining myself starting to skip through the commentary stuff which helps, but I’m still feeling frustrated that nothing major is happening. While I can appreciate some impactful things have occurred, (his mother’s death for example) it’s all been things we’ve known occur from the beginning.
I suppose I’m asking if it does eventually build up to a major plot or surprise/twist, or is it just a rambling story about a man’s childhood/life?
