Just loving me some fresh banned books 🥰

On a real note, I loved Scout’s introduction to the social structures at school. I think Miss Caroline had the right heart in trying to implement a new learning system as a teacher fresh out of college, but she has so many difficulties understanding the social constructs that are deeply engrained within the Maycombers. She doesn’t understand why Walter has been missing classes, or why he’s hesitant in receiving the quarter. I was also saddened that she even ignored Scout’s prowess in reading, because she doesn’t even know how to teach a student with a high reading level. In the end, she bows her head downward, because she’s a young professional with many ideals, but has no clue how to navigate uncharted situations in her own classroom.
