is anyone else doing 75 booked?
I'm planning on starting 75 books in December, so whatever habits I start to build with the challenge will hopefully continue into 2026, too. But, I'm curious... what are everyone's goals? I know some are taking it really seriously and making it really regimented, but I've taken a more laidback approach, I think.
my goals:
- read every day - i know myself and i know i can read every day, but i also know that i often have migraine fare ups where my brain can be out of order for weeks at a time, so i would love to do the two 45 min reading sessions a day but i know myself and that's just not going to always be possible for me. Also, reading slumps are a thing so I don't want to force it.
- Wake up between 5 and 7 and read soon after waking up. We're trying to build an early riser, early reader routine!
If possible: 2 reading sessions per day (for however long as I like, as long as I am genuinely reading the book, even if it's just a page or finishing a chapter) - preferably one when I wake up and one before I go to sleep
- Fill and try to finish a water bottle each day - cheat code: it may be a water bottle, but who says I have to fill it with water?
- Keep up to date with and maintain a Google Sheets doc of everything I read
goals I'm NOT doing
- I'm NOT doing a book-buying ban. I've noticed that the majority of the books I'm reading at the moment are backlists or preorders I've already bought or library loans. So, I'm really only buying books I have every intention of reading in the next month or two (with a few sneaky Kindle deals thrown in there every now and again)
- I'm NOT doing two 45-minute reading sessions per day. I talked about this before, but I have MS so I have some really bad days body-wise and get some absolutely cracker migraines, so expecting me to be able to do the same things I could do on a good day, on days when I can't turn the lights on or get out of bed? Yeah... no.
