Umm if you’ve read a story like this once I feel like it counts as 1000 times. I can’t say I didn’t enjoy the general story, but I really wish we would start rethinking what actually counts as a strong FMC. The repeated remarks about her purity and her betrothal, and the standards she feels tethered to…what a bore. It is so obvious that she doesn’t actually care about any of those things is incredibly contrived. you cannot make me believe the characters care when all you do is just tell me over and over again. Also give me more of a reason to like the MMC other than he’s big and strong. every woman I know has a different type and not one of them wants big hulking strong. And just once I would love to see an FMC grow some ovaries and when they are bullied to just punch the person in the face. You may not have a weapon, but you have hands. The FMC‘s voice was so incredibly annoying, prudish, embarrassing, self-righteous, and frankly, her behavior was dumb. Not a lick of self-respect and completely unrelatable. Keep in mind I find it absolutely OK for an FMC to be inexperience. That is not what I’m critiquing. And for goodness sake, the men need to be doing something other than being good looking.

Ok genuine question. We keep being told that she steels her emotions and doesn’t show them… but they are sooo incredibly obvious even if they weren’t wolves. So my question is am I daft or is this cold front they keep pushing a huge contradiction to what we are seeing? God help me, I just wish she was cooler. To me not showing your real emotions would look like faking happiness or critically strategizing. But maybe I also need to leave room for her to grow.

She’s so … embarrassing. All this man did was be nice to her and desire her. Her “innocence” is so… irritatingly naive. Why is this the main archetype on romantasy?
