Una porquería de principio a fin. No hay historia, no hay trama, no hay desarrollo de personaje, más que solo el monólogo irritante de un narrador sin nombre sin habilidades sociales, con severo daño mental, incompetente en todo lo que hace, y que solo sirve para lamentarse de la miseria que él mismo busca. Todo esto sería perdonable si tan siquiera hubiese un atisbo de querer mejorar, pero no. el narrador solo te dice que el mundo es una basura, que él es una basura, y que tú y todos somos una basura, pero que él es mucho más gradioso y superior porque está orgulloso de serlo y es consciente de serlo. En fin, podría extenderme por horas, pero ya le dediqué demasiado tiempo a esta basofia. No pierdan el suyo.

A complete and utter piece of filth. There's no story, no plot, no character development, just the irritating monologue of a nameless, socially inept, mentally damaged narrator who's incompetent at everything he does and whose only purpose seems to be lamenting the misery he himself creates. All of this would be forgivable if there were even a hint of a desire to improve, but there isn't. The narrator simply tells you that the world is garbage, that he's garbage, and that you and everyone else are garbage, but that he's far grander and superior because he's proud of it and aware of it. Anyway, I could go on for hours, but I've already wasted too much time on this garbage. Don't waste yours.

Hermoso de principio a fin. Me encantaron todas las historias, algunas más que otras, como es inevitable en casos como este, pero todas tienen su encanto. Hubo momentos en que la estructura no era la misma, pero considerando que este es el primer libro de la autora, prefiero ignorarlo. La historia de cada gobernación, los acertijos, las recetas, y los hadices son una grata adición que ha convertido este libro en una joya cultural. Asombroso, en resumen.

Beautiful from beginning to end. I loved all the stories, some more than others, as it is bound to happen in cases like this, but all of them have their own charm. There were times when the structure was not the same, but considering this is the author's first book, I am more than happy to ignore that. The history of each governorate, the riddles, recipes, and hadiths, are a welcome addition that nurtured this book into a cultural gem. Amazing, in short.

Antes que nada, no he visto noticias sobre la edición en español de este libro, pero Umbriel Editores tradujo el primer tomo de la saga, así que recomiendo que estén atentos a esta editorial.

Sentí que este libro empezó un poco más lento que el anterior, pero el ritmo terminó por convencerme tras algunos capítulos. El estilo de Saint es evocador, elegante, pero con una sencillez envidable que te adentra en la narración en un parpadeo. Aunque aún me cuesta un poco seguir los distintos puntos de vista, estos hacen de la narración aún más rica, más detallada, dándole aún más vida al mundo de esta saga. I felt this book started a little slower than the previous one, but the pace eventually won me over after a few chapters. Saint's style is evocative and elegant, yet possesses an enviable simplicity that draws you into the narrative in the blink of an eye. Although I still find it a little challenging to follow the different points of view, they make the narrative even richer and more detailed, bringing even more life to the world of this saga. The messy art was my biggest problem. Messy, confusing, hard to follow, along with a strange panel distribution that took me out of it. The script was... rough, with many loose ends, unexplained things, and obvious clues from the very beginning about this or that. It was too fast for my liking, and the "oh, no, it is actually XXXXX!" moment near the end was the nail in the coffin. One star for the originality, and one for making it about the first-ever female president of the USA facing unique battles. Other than that, big disappointment.

El guión es precioso de a buenas primeras. Cherry Zong sienta las bases del mundo en el que todo se desarrolla con un inicio sólido y personajes bastante humanos. Hay fantasía, terror, drama, y una dinámica familiar que me heló la sangre. The script is beautiful right from the start. Cherry Zong lays the foundation for the world in which everything unfolds with a solid beginning and quite human characters. There's fantasy, horror, drama, and a family dynamic that sent chills down my spine. While I try to maintain diversity in my reading, this one was slightly closer to my comfort zone because of the themes it addresses. Yuu Minaduki takes heavy topics and manages them with so much care and respect while maintaining their weight, their impact on someone's life, and how the consequences ripple across different people.
