Hey y'all, I was hoping for some recommendations. I just tried a book that I quickly put down because it was fantasy with a romance. I am getting tired of fantasy books being always either male centered and if not there always has to have a romance. I want a fantasy that woman/nonbinary etc centered, without romance. If you have any recommendations, I would forever be grateful!

She talks about the pandemic and how that the Anti-Asian racism that stemmed from it spanned back to the "yellow fever" bull and the 1918 flu. She also brings up how the U.S. treatment of Indigenous, Black and Brown people led to how nazi Germany policies were brought into place. Something that I don't think she talks about, whether because it doesn't directly tie to what she is talking about or not, is how these flu epidemics/pandemics tied to Nazi party gains. Fascism and disease spread are tied together. We see this as people choose to ignore the ongoing pandemic and the rise of Fascism. Disease as always been used as a tool of oppression and we see this clearly now. I find it frustrating seeing these protest but barely anyone is wearing a mask😷. Contributing to the spread of disease, the tool of oppressors and fascists. I am linking to a video of someone talking about this in more clear language here
