    Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

The idea of a witch and vampire getting together is what originally pulled me in, I love when two different magical beings get together.

Where it lacked was the depth of the characters. Everything felt surface level, and you never really learned much about the two MCs other than a few big details that were crucial to the story.

It all felt a little cheesy when it came to the romance, and even within the romance it felt like some chapters were skipped, creating an unnatural relationship between Amara and Celine.

I didn’t really love the typical “witch flies on a broom” and “vampire sleeps in a coffin”, it added to the cheesiness. I find myself enjoying when authors put their own original spin on it all.

The side characters gave a bit of “theater kid” vibes with their dramatics, and a few scenes went by where I thought, “Really?”

It wasn’t a bad story by any means, but I do think I won’t be picking up the other standalones in this series.

  • Nothing sounds good!

I'm sure we've all been there, at least when you're hungry and nothing sounds good to eat. But what about with reading? You're in the mood to read but nothing pulls at you... What do you do? Do you choose something randomly and hope it sticks, do you have a method, do you browse?

Alternatively, if you had access to any book, which would you read?
