Not my usual genre but a thoroughly good read! The story twists & turns with nice pacing throughout.

Heads up this is book 1 of ?? I wasn’t aware it would be a duology/series when I picked it up. I find myself not entirely satisfied with the ending so I’ll definitely be picking up the next book in the series to satisfy my curiosity!

I loved this book! There was a whole lot of story packed into this relatively short read. I loved the world building, the characters and the writing of all of it. Short review cause no notes, just a good time!

Listen. I loved the characters. I enjoyed the story. Right up until it’s revealed the author is withholding information we should know. I’m all for twists and turns but if we are following a character knowing their inner workings and thoughts, don’t make the plot twists hinge on the character not revealing certain aspects of themselves. It makes no sense to me & shatters my ability to suspend my disbelief.

It’s hard for me to rate this one. I really was having a nice time up until I realised what was going on. With not just one MC but two - both perspectives the readers follow are deceitful. So I guess I like the ideas just not the execution.

This was a cosy read. The storyline is pretty basic but that’s a good thing in this instance as it allows the author to introduce us to the various characters that make up Maple Hollow. I more striking storyline beyond the romance would have made this book super intense & I like it just as it is.

Looking forward to visiting Maple Hollow again & its various intriguing residents!
