  • How do you note who recommended a book to you?

I watch a few people on Youtube and through an email sub, and I'd like to note in my TBR how I found the book/who it was recommended by.

If I do a list for each one, that adds a good few lists to my already long collection, so just wondering how anyone else does it? I have a spreadsheet where I record all the books I've read with their reviews, the series I'm reading and the 52 Book Club progress. Would I be best to just move into that and undertake a bit of a spreadsheet project (oh dear, what a hassle 😉)?

I've just moved over to Pagebound from Goodreads and really enjoying it, esp the quests, so if I can do it in one place all the better.

  • The Expectation Effect: How Your Mindset Can Change Your World
    Thoughts from 20%

I have found this fascinating so far. Learning about how the body can be so affected by the 'expectation machine' is mind blowing - it is bat shit crazy what our brains can do. Really interesting finding out how people can 'spread' the expectation effect.

This is way better than I thought it would be. I thought it might be just another self help book (I got it for free so thought I'd give it a go) but it's far more - great education about psychology, neuroplasticity, powers of the human mind to affect a person's view of the world and their own health. The later chapters look like they'll be interesting too. At the moment, anything non-fiction that can make my jaw drop/have me read a part over 2-3 times, is 5 stars. Let's see if it keeps this most esteemed rank I can give it!

OK, Natalie is unlikeable, but she smart, funny, quick.

I feel sorry for her at the mo. She's so intelligent yet is so blinkered. And she's suffering. I think I know what's going on, but curious to find out.

I also wonder if this might be more relevant to readers in the US, culturally I know Christianity, trad life, etc, is a lot different from in the UK.
