Mixed feelings about this book. Overall, it's a decent read. However: TRIGGER WARNING- abuse, SA, grooming, etc.

incredible—a queer mountain lion that’s protective of a nearby homeless group. would read 700 more pages from this queen

i actually cannot believe that there isn't MORE to this book. my SINGLE COMPLAINT is that there isn't MORE. and yet? it ended perfectly, and i am satisfied. i didn't want it to end!
i would have never imagined myself relating to a mountain lion more than a human, but here we are. this book is so strange, the formatting so different, the vocabulary so sparse (in the sense that our MC is a mountain lion who technically cannot speak english), AND YET? it touches on so many important topics: gender, homelessness, love, sexuality, environmentalism, what it's like to be human. and it doesn't have to do it in too many words.
i loved, loved, LOVED this, and i completely understand why so many people have praised it, recommended it, been obsessed with it. i'm joining the club! doing an immersive read for this book was the perfect experience, and i think if you're into weird litfic, this will be PERFECT for you. wow.
