Liora Lost In Heaven's Touch had me from the dedication, "To the souls who feel lost, who wander through life seeking where they truly belong. To the ones who built walls around their hearts to keep the pain at bay, who carry their traumas like armor to shield themselves from the world... This story is for you. I see you. I hear you. And I hope, through these pages, you find a spark of hope, a whisper of belonging, and the courage to let your light shine again." It does come with triggers/warnings: It delves into themes of trauma, emotional struggles, and personal healing, which may be triggering for some readers. The story contains strong language, adult situations, and explicit sexual content that are integral to the characters' journeys and relationships.

LLIHT is a spicy paranormal romance! Liora is the FMC & Karios is the MMC. I have read a few of Ava's books & I do love her writing style & the way she describes things. She is one of the authors who truely understand show don't tell with writing ❤️. I really enjoyed the London 2100 snippets before the prologue world building with the depictions of London and the depictions of how they had advanced and worked with the world changing not against it, to truely benefit.

    Overall, i binge read this quickly. I enjoyed it. But I do always enjoy books written by Ava. 🌶 Spicy Chaps 🌶 Chap 21 🌶🌶 , Chap 30 🌶🌶, Chap 31 🌶🌶🌶, Chap 32 🌶🌶, Epilogue 🌶🌶

Nocturnal is Book 2 of The Lockwood University Series. Another 10 star from me for this series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This review may probably contain spoilers as I rage quite abit at JJ, what can I say? I am very passionate about this series 👀🤣😮‍💨.

Nocturnal this time round is rated New Adult so therefore 18+ as it is mentioned it features alot more darkness compared to Vanished (Book 1), and as the characters are getting older and more mature, there will be some Secual Activity. (Spelt wrong on purpose). Compared to Vanished, Nocturnal does come with a list of triggers this time round, but trust me when I say, it is issues that are bareable! 🌛 Violence throughout, including against a pregnant woman. 🌛 Secual content. (Spelt wrong on purpose). 🌛 Mentions of D£ug & Alcohol misuse 🌛 $uicide Attempts 🌛 PTSD/Mental Health distress 🌛 Mentions of SA (Secual Assault) (misspelt on purpose) 🌛 References to Childhood Tr@uma that some readers could find distressing.

I did not only ARC Nocturnal but I also beta read it, and JJ felt my full wrath (I'm sure he can confirm if asked lol). I absolutely 1000% have been OBSESSED with all things Lockwood since I found JJ, I'm grateful to have came across his tiktok as now not only do I have another Indie Authors series I LOVE, but I have found a friend too!

Page 1 opens similar to page 1 in Book 1 Vanished, I was instantly absorbed into the storyline as it picks up after the events of Book 1 (no spoilers, but you should probably know since you need to read Book 1 Vanished, to understand ANYTHING going on in this read). JJ's writing in Vanished was incredibly done, but Nocturnal- hot damn. JJ completely stepped it up more than a notch, his writing had improved massively and you really can tell. I was on an emotional rollercoaster liturally right from the VERY beginning. Like wtf JJ??? He just throws you right in there, no warming up at all (but I did love that).. just like Vanished (Book 1), Nocturnal is written from the POV of Noah Beach, who is still trying to overcome huge adjustments in his life, he emotionally feels like he is drowning with everything that happened previously, and constantly wants to feel pain (enter the 💀 attempt trigger warning). Throughout the story we get to see his relationships grow with all his close knit circle & we get to meet Ruby & Roman's adorible child (that kiddo has my heart JJ).

JJ had none stop emotional messages from me throughout this read - and also had alot of laughs due to my reactions to things - he gladly had fun in my emotional turmoil Nocturnal trauma. The twists and turns yet again done by JJ was done with incredible skill, twists that even I did not pick up on and it was complete awe and shock factor throughout.

There is some spice in this Book, but it is nothing like the major chilli factor, as JJ wanted the main focus to remain on the storyline which is totally understandable and done amazingly.

My jaw hit the floor throughout, I laughed, I cried, I think I even had to step away for a few minutes at one or 2 points due to the shock factor (not because of triggers etc)... the hate I felt towards characters, the fear I felt for those characters I loved, the overall atmosphere within the world liturally just kept you on a constant knife edge wanting AND needing more. I read Nocturnal within 12 hours (I liturally didnt put it down and just had to keep going) JJ couldn't/didn't believe me when I was like "okay doneeee. Now we need words." 👀🤣

JJ, Nocturnal is 100% a step up from Vanished & you should be incredibly proud of this work, I know for a fact my hubby best do something to fund my book addition to this series as I NEED every version. K thanks ❤️❤️❤️

Continue to be incredibly proud of this, because as a fan of these books, I'm incredibly proud of it for you!

Bring on book 3 already, I'm dying here. 🩸🧛‍♂️🐺🧙‍♀️🧙‍♂️👥

Favourite quotes / Lines ~~ (this was hard to keep small)

Dying isn't the part, staying dead is.

    "Only Pu$$ies hit women"

"You should have chosen option one,"

"Why are you being such a bitch"

[Redacted for spoilers] 's bedroom is immaculate. Of course it is. Nothing is out of place. I bet [redacted] irons her knickers.

I will protect Roman's [redacted] until I die. And vampires don't die. This time it's different. This time I'm strong enough. [Redacted]'s safe. Anyone who forgets that will learn the hard way.

"You want a mop and a bucket?" (This line killed me for about 15 mins). 🤣

"That post is getting reposted faster than a wizard with a wand up his ass".

    "You bitch slapped me"

"I don't think I've ever seen anything more adorible. And I don't even like babies"

"Help me up so I can hug you, you pu$$y"

"If you're going to limp, at least do it with dignity"

"Stop getting your G-String in a twist"

"A real man let's his emotions out"

    "Grief does things to you"

    I could go on forever but I won't 👀🤣

late arc review due to personal reasons

Rounded up to 4 stars..... Bamforth, hats of to you for being a top awesome sick individual 👀🤣🤣 (this is a compliment even if it doesnt seem like 1 lol) Formaldehyde by J.N. Banforth is A Taboo Horror read, with NO HEA. I have fell behind on some arcs due to being ill so this is my late review after getting this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

The Blurb: Ethan isn’t afraid to cross the lines when it comes to his sister. In fact, he’s more than ready to do whatever it takes to claim Alina. Even if she is alive or dead.

This read was a super quick read for me with 125 pages, I went into it knowing of No HEA & a shopping list of triggers, I did love that it was set in the UK tho!! Triggers: Blood relations, Graphic details, Autopsies, Autopsy instruments, PTSD, Panic Attacks, Possessive MMC, Mentions of alcohol, Drug Use, Primal Play, Murder, Broken Bones, Dub-Con, Spitting, Suicide, Abusive Parent, Grief, Sibling Death, Sick Fantasies, Insects, Mentions of Overdose, Suicidal Thoughts, Hallucinations, Ghostly Mirror Sex, Improper use of a teddy bear, Autopsies and Embalming on living people, Thoughts of Cannibalism, Patchwork Bodies, Necrophillia, Cum Stuffing, Defiling of a Corpse, Body Horror, Removal of Limbs, Cooking human meat, Chicken nuggets (Sorry.), Mental Voices.

You liturally dive right and holy f***. 👀 J.N really held no punches on this book. Well fuck... also is Mr Wilson as twisted as the mmc Ethan?! Lol. I did not expect that twist at the end. Damn.

An interesting start to a series. This is a prequel novella so there's a lot more world building that is needed but that's understandable.
Petra seems to be an interesting character. I want to know more about what her magic entails. While the idea of a supernatural assassin isn't a new one, I am appreciating the direction this series is setting up. The Bone Blight was a neat enemy, the use of fetishes to capture its prey was done well.
There are some typos so it could use another look through and update as a few of them require a second glance to determine what the word should be.
I received this as a review copy and I am interested in checking out book 1 in the series at some point.

3.5 stars, (rounded to 4 on GR since they dont allow half stars.)

Bone Blight: A Petra Graves is a Prequel Novella by #morganquaid, and falls under the Urban Fantasy Genre. Book 1 that can be read after this is called Petra Graves Chronicles, Blood Hunter.

It starts out with the FMC Petra who is a Sorcerer Assassin in training, and travels to Innsbruck, Austria in search of a terrifying creature known as a Boneblight. Upon locating and dispatching the beast, Petra discovers that the creature’s emergence into the Hallowed World isn’t a fluke, but rather has been orchestrated at the hands of a powerful rogue sorcerer.

The plot & overall story had so much potential and I was excited for this read. But for me it felt, lacking in - in depth detailings (the light being 1 thing). Some stuff just felt mentioned, rushed and brushed over, where adding more context and indepthness would to me as a reader, have absorbed me more into the world/surroundings and story. Also, Toby was such a whimp for being in that position. There was also grammer & punctuation issues. Overall, if/when I do decide to read one after reading this. All my questions get answered in book 1 as you are kinda left in limbo of sorts. And the ending was very Abrupt.

The Lost Emerald by Jeanette T Queen. I loved her previous Pendragon books. So I had to of course get this ARC! I read it in 2 sittings! I binged it so bad.

    This gets a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, I just love Jeanette's writing.

TLE is a Romantasy, with true enemies to lovers, spice, slow burn, forbidden love, one bed, one horse, found family, dragons & more. And abit on the Darkside & comes with triggers: Fantasy violence (Swords, daggers, arrows, and yes, some blood), Tarot Reading, Witchcraft, Poisoning, Human Trafficking, Attempted SA Mentioned, imprisonment (Not MC), Kidnapping, Well-deserved Mild dismemberment, Foul language (I'm pretty sure my MFC’s favorite word is the F-bomb), Open door spicy time Bondage (Not the fun kind), Threats of forced breeding, accidental drugging, drug use (Not by MC). SO, its definitely a fun read.

The book starts with Ember who is a dragon shifter. I was instantly absorbed into this book, I had to stop to make dinner and had to do a double take that I was already on chapter 4 👀🤣🤣🤣

Right from the beginning i had a feeling Ember's father with being the head of the five families had something to do with the missing item that apparently was causing the wars. Whether that be the case or not who knows. He just seemed so weird. Like, why be a dick to your only daughter. K thanks bye. (This was the only note I kind of made while reading 👀🤣🤣)

Before I knew it I was over 54% in and like...damn????? How 👀. The story is so gripping, there's so many twists and turns! I loved the frustration between hotcakes & Waterboy and the uber denial 👀🤣🤣🤣 i have to admit i was screaming to the book "omg just bonk already" 🤣.

I absolutely loved Rolf & Lira!!! Lira had me cackling my head off 🤣🤣

Holy twist balls!!!!! I suspected throughout but to have it confirmed...Woah. I...damn.... shesssssssssh.

    🤯🤯🤯 Book 2 when?

This exposure review gets a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me. I throughly enjoyed it. It falls under Historical Fantasy / Science Fiction Alternative History / Alternative History. Im not huge on Historical but these last few books have been awesome under Historical Fiction!

Black Shuck 1577 by @pmmorgan_author falls under the genre of Historical Fantasy. Set in the year 1577 England, when rumours of a monstrous black hound begin to spread through rural Suffolk, Edward Tanner — a government agent investigating heresy — is drawn into a village ruled by fear, secrecy, and buried belief!!

I loved the way Morgan descripted things just one example, "the wooden walls of his quarters groaned as they always did in summer heat, dry and skeletal." & "Wax slid down the iron sconces, pooling like blood on the flagstones." The last line gave me such vivid imagery & chills!

I was hooked into this book and honestly, forgot to make notes as I was going along!! I was absorbed into it from about page 10! The mystery of it all was awesome, the twists & turns & Morgans writing was 🫶👌 throughout. From page 10 I was like. Is it him? Is he cursed? Is he the Black dog? Or is it connected to him in some way. I had soooo many unanswered questions and theories 👀☠️🤣

Diamond Blood by S.R Wilcott, thanks to Beth from @Wings & Words for this exposure review. Overall, as much as I was hoping this would be an amazing read, i rate it a 2.5, rounding up to 3 stars for the sake of GR etc. And I am gutted because I had huge hopes as I love my dark gothic vamp stories. Triggers: SA scene in chapter chapter 5, page 49. Although it doesnt go into major detailing, it felt needed to mention. Diamond Blood is a dark gritty vampire story set in the murky depths of the Underground. Estella, a 200+ years old vampire lives a pampered existence with her lover, Marc. But after a discreet dalliance, she becomes pregnant with a hybrid child destined to rule the Underworld. Estella must protect the child at all costs and goes into hiding creating a war between the clans.  Why call yourself nightwalkers you are vampires just own it 😝🤣. Spice right from the beginning is never a bad way to start a book 🤣. Whilst I enjoyed the concept of the story, it fell very, I dunno flat? Also the grammar errors and punctuation drove my ocd insane 🤯👀. I felt like it could in some places had alot more depth, explanation & exploration. Some bits were kind of just mentioned and grazed over. An example: when her child is born, like. It sorta just happens then boom?? There is no angst really or build up, then after birth it felt very anticlimactic of sorts. The writing style felt very, basic. Like a novice new writer was writing. There was alot of telling instead showing. So although I did enjoy the concept of the story, these are the reasonings for my rating. Also to me, a section of the book was kind of - a plot hole - maybe? I would call it. Shes concerned about her 150+ year love finding her and killing her for her betrayal. But then it goes on about how devoted he was to her. If he was/probably still is blinded by his love for her then he wont be hunting her down to kill her would he ? "There were no doubts in her mind he would be plotting some elaborate plan when learned of her deceit. After all, she was his princess and could do no wrong. Catering to her every whim was a pastime he frequently enjoyed. Indeed, he had spoilt her rotten. Perhaps, that was half the problem. He gave her everything, and she wanted for nothing. Maybe if he hadn’t been so predictable." Being his princess and doing no wrong? Even if she has deceived him....his love is depicted as being that strong.. the "elaborate plan" would be illrevent and not actually happen??? But thats just my 2 pence. What do I know 👀🤣 #gothic #exposure #bookreview #srwilcott #bookreader
