The first half was slow going. I think the combination of letters and news clippings left me a little jostled from being thrown through the past and present. I will admit, about halfway through I was able to get a handle on the storytelling. By the end, I do think I enjoyed the story and was pleasantly surprised by the ending. The audiobook I listened to was very choppy though with its transitions and the production of the clips as well. We would be in the same paragraph and the tone and sound would change randomly for a single sentence and then go back to how it was. A very solid horror novel inspired by one of my favorite plays!

Two of my favorite Latine historical romance series ending this year was actually very hurtful to međ„Č Liana De La Rosa has once again made me gasp, swoon, and squeal with her writingđ𫶠this was truly and beautiful end to this series and Im so glad we got that sweet epilogue with all the Luna sisters and their familiesđ„Č𫶠Also, itâs me once again shipping the couple for book 3 since the beginning of the seriesđ

I LOVE MY MUSCLE MOMMY SAMAIRAđ«¶đ«¶ This book was so freaking good I literally binged it in less than a dayđ The found family, vigilante justice, emotional depth, and overall plot building was amazing! The relationship between Sami and Dom was so genuine it made me giggle and kick my feetđ€ Iâm so invested in this world and in these characters (that authorâs note at the end has me đ bc those two characters?? Iâm VERY interested in how this plays outđââïž) Please be mindful of the trigger warnings this is a DARK story and can be a lot for some readersđ«¶

Iâd sell my soul for access to Isabel Cañas books for the rest of my lifeđ§ââïžThe storytelling is so captivating and rich! The historical setting is very interesting and the imagery her writing provokes is so visceral in natuređââïž Sheâs written about ghosts, vampires, and demons, so Iâm very excited to see what she comes up with next and how her voice will bring a refreshing change to the next big badđ€ (I fear I do have really high hopes that Iâll be getting 1 new book a year from her bc of these last three releasesđ)

More of a 3.5, but WOW. Who knew graduate school could be so trippy? I have a bunch of questions and Iâm hoping the sequel will possible answer some of them!
