2.5āļø I wanted to love this but it fell flat for me. I just can't with emotionally unavailable men who lead you on but also don't want to let you go. had enough of these in real life. dont want to read about them ugh he redeemed himself in the end after a very unnecessary third act breakup but oh well.
this was simultaneously way too slow for me while also being insta lust. I didn't quite get the chemistry between the characters and I had to pretend we are in the 90s or early 2000s because who would go viral after calling into a late night radio showš idk about you but I only listen radio for two seconds before my car connects to my phone. so yeah... the idea was cute but I dont know...probably won't pick up another one by the author.

this story had the potential to a very engaging and exciting finale with interesting world building and tragic stories. but it fell completely flat execution wise.
the characters which weren't the strongest in part 1 were now one dimensional that it hurt. they were stripped of every other quality they might have possessed imo. it could be saved by interesting and compelling side characters which there were an abundance of but still, the characters fell flat which makes me believe that the author can't write people I want to root for.
the pacing was all over the place. lots and lots of talking about plans and how everything will go wrong and how utterly monstrous Freya would be. it was really just going around in circles.
the villain was comically bad just for the sake of it in my eyes. I didn't quite see a motivation for the villain at all (but I might be not up to date on Norse mythology for that) but it was lackluster for me.
but what grated my nerves from the moment I realized why the pacing was throwing me off so much was the writing! This one was 2 pov from Freya and Bjorn and the author tended to tell a scene in one of their povs just to jump in the past, just 10 minutes maybe, in the other pov and tell about how they saw the scene in their pov. it threw me off sooooo much especially when it was scenes they were both in in the same place. I think the author wanted to show the reader everything but sometimes it is best to imply things maybe. it was so annoying because it wasn't like once or twice but for basically every major scene.
all in all, I had such high hopes for this series because I was interested in the Norse mythology but it all fell flat for me and I think i won't read another series by this author in the future...:(
