I can’t stop watching SLOMW so I read this out of curiosity, here’s what I’ll say: -it’s of course cool of anyone to share their story to help others, and she is very vulnerable in this so good on her for that and it’s horrible some of the things she went through -it’s maybe one of the worst written/edited books I’ve read, but if you read/listen to it like a diary you can get through it enjoyably, I’d go into detail but it’s really all of it that is just not well done -it shed light on some issues I didn’t really know about, like fear of reporting abuse because of an honor code, which made me very mad at BYU as an institution. I imagine this actually will help a lot of people to hear about -there’s a lot of vulnerability which I applaud her for but I gotta mention there’s also some rich girl moments and towards the end definitely some well-thought out statements about SLOMW drama that you can’t help but cringe a little at -I listened to this as background as I did other activities and it was great for that

I read this because my partner loves the Brando Sando books so I agreed to start reading a Cosmere book- it was fantastic! He’s truly an incredible writer and it shows through excellent storytelling and clever wordplay. His universe reminds me of Brian K. Vaughn’s writing in the way that anything can happen and because it’s its own unique world you never know what’s going to happen on the next page. Highly recommend if you want a standalone fun fantasy novel that I would classify as cozy!

These books are perfect if you’re just looking for an easy, small town, guilty-pleasure type read- also I loved the show so I’m enjoying the books!
This did a lot better job of handling talking about an eating disorder than I thought it would- that’s not to say it wasn’t flawed, but overall I thought it was fine 🤷🏼♀️ I do wish the author had made even more of an effort to drive home the point that healthy does not have to equal skinny but she kinda said something along those lines in the end
I have a tough time with romances that require characters to forgive/move past cheating, so I liked this less than the first one
I’m excited to see how Helen’s book goes next since I loved her story in the show :)
