Well that was uhh-dorable

I got pissed off too much to rate a five star but this was still cute! It’s the first Emily Henry book that I havnt DNF’d and I’m glad for it.

What I love!! I loved the casual drug use that wasn’t like a plot point or used to demonize or reprimand. I loved the way that off the bay miles was just so sweet and affectionate and touchy in a good way, I loved the familial relationships—even if they were one of the things that also pissed me off near the end. And I love—and lowk hated cause it hurt so bad—how realistic the daddy issues were portrayed ESPECIALLY the confliction of knowing they’re better in the present than they were in the past.

I did not like—most likely personal—how quick they were to let in on the sexual tension. Even if it’s a contemporary romance and they technically didn’t do anything until like 75-80% in, they were still damn near fry humping at the 50% mark. I didn’t like how when one of them got really upset and blew someone off, it only took about 2 sentences of ‘advice’ to do a full 180. I loved Ashley in that regard and that she held out for a few days. I hated that they could barely communicate sometimes but I did like that things were resolved in a way that I didn’t have to stay mad long since they moved past like a damn bullet train.

More things than I normally put in a dislike list for such a high rating, but I was hooked in and looking forward to my few chapters I could listen to between assignments. Very cute, very funny, I recommend

That is such a sweet theme!! And book! I’m gonna be so real I judged this book by the cover and thank the stars (hah) I did. A diverse cast that goes into the woes of being mentally different and disabled without feeling heavy and with queer rep! Oh I’m in love.

Few issues were that sometimes they were just throwing shit in there for the sake of an interesting plot but… yea it made the plot interesting and I got over my annoyance pretty quick after each part. It has a late conflict that I feel was unnecessary and dropped it a .25 star for me but it’s really like within the last 50 or so pages so it’s not too bad.

I totally recommend this book nonetheless as a cozy read that will still make you wanna cry a bit, lord knows I did lol
