I feel like a lot of AFAB people can relate to the crushing desire to be wanted and seeing the lengths Waldo goes through to get it, it hurts to an even higher degree. The unreliable people and the judgment—from yourself or others—the outcomes that are half resolvent at best. It’s all so realistic for a fiction book.
