  • Unhinged Book Cover Icks

What are your unhinged book cover icks?

I'm not talking stickers or people covers. I want the unhinged reason to not like a cover

For example: It gives me the biggest ick when it's a silhouette cover, and the designer has to include the name of who the silhouette is on the cover like we'll know who they are 😂

Took me a while to get into this book, but it has gotten really engaging! It is certainly messy in some ways, but the writing style is lovely and the relationships interesting!

  • Signed Books

Growing up with a reading specialist mother, a retired librarian aunt, and cousins who semi-frequently attend author events, I've acquired a small collection of signed/personalized books over the years. Some personal highlights include:

    • Six of Crows and The Familiar signed by Leigh Bardugo
    • The Fragile Threads of Power signed by V.E. Schwab
    • Shatter Me signed by Tahereh Mafi
    • Divine Rivals signed by Rebecca Ross
    • Legend and Red City signed by Marie Lu
    • Daughter of No Worlds signed by Carissa Broadbent
    • Trials of Apollo: The Burning Maze signed by Rick Riordan
    • Land of Stories signed by Chris Colfer
    • Artemis Fowl signed by Eoin Colfer
    • The Wild Robot signed by Peter Brown

Do you have any signed copies that you're excited about or proud of? Any signings you've attended where your interactions with the author made a memorable impact on you?

The pace is fast, and it's a pretty anxiety inducing and stressful book, but it is very engaging and hard to put down!

This book is a bit of a wild ride. I really want to give Sam a hug but I also want to scream at her. Definitely curious to see how this all will end!

The pacing is a bit strange and the plot is pretty messy, but I am curious how this will go

It's been a pretty long time since I read the first two books in the trilogy so I had some mixed feelings going into this, not knowing what I would remember or feel interested in. But this book ended up being pretty great even without remembering all the previous plot elements.

The plot is maybe not the most original but it is engaging, and even when the characters aren't likeable, it is easy to root for them.

The pacing is pretty slow, but it is not a bad thing. One of the best things about the book is the writing style, language, and atmosphere and the slower pace gives that the space to shine.

Overall, I enjoyed it a lot, and it was an excellent end to the series!
