This was a second chance romance trope and the most awaited. These two have been bickering since book 1 and their story did not disappoint. The time jumps were clear and Laurie Gilmore was able to write the characters distinctly as teenagers during those time jumps. I may have shed a tear or two. Okay, this book broke me. This was a close proximity, single dad trope. I love that Iris finally got her story but to be honest, this was my least favorite out of the 6 books. The conflict was not really solid but it was still a cozy read.

The story is about Jeannie's younger brother who was visiting because he wanted to get away for a while. Kira was the owner of the Christmas Tree Farm. Bennet was the type of guy who always likes to help and Kira did not like to be helped. I enjoyed reading the book and the plot of getting out of a cycle of a toxic relationship is a breath of fresh air in a cozy read book.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I feel that Ali Hazelwood could have written it better. I think the relationship was too fast but it was also clear that the MMC wanted the FMC for a while. The attraction resonated so much in this book. The feeling of how the MMC was such in control, I was eating it up. It was a good read but probably because they are 21 years old, it was why it didn't click for me too well.

I love this book. I enjoy the banters and the side characters and the dysfunction of their family. The plot and conflict is somewhat predictable but the writing and execution of the story was a journey that I enjoyed and love. This is my favorite because there were social issues that were addressed in the book, what men think about women in STEM that is in academia, the struggle of people without healthcare, how people in academia would end up thousands of student loans and the salary is definitely not rewarding. Definitely worth the read.
