It's a steamy, not too spicy, short story at only 200 pages. Almost every page has some smut on it. The plot only exists to push them further into having more sex, and the characters are pretty bare bones except for Caleb's big dick and Ellie's nipples. It's a bit repetitive in the scenes, nothing that crazy happens. I don't regret reading it, but wouldn't say it's a must read.

A book that will leave you feeling breathless, empty, and all alone. Follow Elena and Christian on their path to fall in love, as they explore and reveal their obsession, power dynamics, and trust. However not everything is as it seems. Murder, secrets, and the past that always comes back to haunt us, are on a crusade to break them.
While there are some parts of the book that seem a little.. unrealistic, or improbable, I still enjoyed it and just gave a little laugh to it. Some of this book is best if you just let yourself roll with it and have fun with it when you can. There are a few plot twists that were fairly predictable, but still entertaining! The ending was chaotic and absolutely heartbreaking, showing that the past does repeat itself.
Christian is an interesting, but morally grey character that has built his walls up with a depth of 9" of pure metal, impossible for anyone to breach. Until he meets Elena, his angel, his reason for living. She learns how to tear these walls down and shows christian that he can be vulnerable. He can give up some control. He can live not constantly plagued by his past decisions. Life is new, Elena is the sunlight, and he only wants to bathe in her.
Elena is an okay character. I think she a little dumb for continuing to work at the club while she's got a millionaire boyfriend. But I think this also shows her being head strong, defiant, and wanting to be in control. And while Christian keeps her in a diamond cage, these are also the very things that he loves about her and tries to encourage. He helps her figure out how to come out of her shell and love in a way she never knew possible. Despite his faults, his scars, and his dark side, she can't deny what she feels for him.
As for spiciness, I would call it explicit and plentiful. I love how Christian makes most things about her and her pleasure. Plenty of scenes where he goes down on her, or just plays with her with his hand. Super super hot š„ Sadly, the story is not always happy spicy. This book turns dark and sits there for some time, and then returns to it. This book has some really bleak parts that deal with heart wrenching themes. Can you put aside your previous notions of love and become obsessed too?
Do not read if you have triggers regarding rape/sexual abuse, kidnapping, humiliation, death, trafficking, guns.

Morally grey or straight up baddies? A collection of books written from a villainous/morally grey POV. Only the first book from a series is included.

Does anyone have a book from their childhood that they reread as an adult and it brought them the same amount or more joy upon the reread. I have had this a few times but my favorite is when I reread The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper. I was a little worried about rereading it because it meant so much to me as a kid. I had a few other experiences were I reread a childhood book and really disliked it. The Dark is Rising was not that. It was great and I remember all the feelings of joy it brought me the first time. I love recalling how it made me a lifelong King Arthur fan. I am not going to lieā¦.I breathed a little sigh of relief. Next month I am going to reread The Hobbit for the first time in about 46 years. I am hoping I have the same experience.

I asked this question when I first joined Pagebound and I loved hearing about the different ways reading has been a part or joined your life. If you missed it the first time, I would love to know. My original post is below:
How did you get into reading? I know maybe a simple question, but I got into reading because of my Godmother, she was a librarian for a school board and always gifted me books for Christmas and birthdays growing up. They would always be different genres and always something i would never choose myself. This made me really appreciate stepping outside your comfort zone to find something you may like (or may not like lol). Last year, we decided to share a read together and again it was something I likely would have not picked up myself, but I was left with that feeling of appreciation for stepping outside your comfort zone and nostalgia for the old traditions manifesting itself in different ways.
So how does your story go? Have you been a reader since before you can remember? Was there a teacher or loved one that showed you the joys of reading? Or did you stumble upon reading later on in life?
Tell me im nosy!!
