I won't pretend to have understood everything. I didn't most of the time. But I enjoyed it. It was like reading poetry in a fairy tale book read by scientists. Soooo weird but in a very good way.
I think that I will reread it at some point, when my life will be more peaceful (I hope) to enjoy the pace and all the melancholy, the loneliness and the love.
Because at the end of the day, it's a book about love. A love, so pure and strong. A love beyong thyself but without sacrifice. 💜
I try to post review as soon as I feel I have something constructive to say about the book I'm reading or something I feel strongly about.
I have recently figured out (thank you pagebound :)) that I read a lot of french books, a lot more than I realised. So most of the times, when I post in forum or a review, my thoughts are in french or the books I read are not followed as much, I don't know. Anyway, most of the times, I feel like I'm talking into a big void and sometimes, someone picks it up and I feel seen. It's kinda stupid but it's powerful.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm grateful for all the workers behind pagebound and I hope, in the future, to have more opportunities to connect with some of you all.

I see your point. Thank you for your input.
I strongly think that what we are reading or watching (basically what we are consuming litteraly speaking) nourrishes our way of thinking and so, I think it is important to give context to a story. Who wrote it, what are they defending as human being and as artist, in what year.
I took the time at lunch to narrate him the story between Britain and Native americans, not as history but as a story. He did two and two and ask me about the book. Then he told me what he actually enjoys about this book.
We came to an agreement to keep reading this book but with our knowing glasses on. 😅
