I already love Kitay and the fact that it’s just him and Rin chilling in the drug farm room waiting for the Lore master is so funny to me 😭 I figured the white haired teacher who looked like he didn’t even get properly dressed for the orientation would be a character, looking forward to actually meeting him.

sometimes struggle with the star ratings but i liked it!!! was a lot of light-hearted / found family moments but had some tenser + more emotional scenes too. ive seen people diss how unrealistic the space/sci-fi stuff was but like i wasn’t expecting it to be NASA level researched it’s an unplanned space journey with a ragtag team of found family each with their specialised science/tech knowledge. It’s a fun read so don’t go in expecting Dune or whatever else sets expectations high these days, i don’t think it was ever marketed as groundbreaking science epic but anywho!! the back of the book has quotes that reiterate it’s a rom-com and other things my review mentions. Such as: let a girl and her queer friend group be quirky on a stolen space ship hurtling through space, GOD!!!! i thought the main relationship developed nicely and i genuinely enjoyed their dynamic throughout and was pleasantly surprised by how the conflict was resolved🙏 if you’re in the mood for some wacky space shenanigans featuring sapphic leads Cleo and Billie (mostly cleo pov tho) her nb friend Ros, friend Kaleisha who’s trans + the token dude Abe who ADORES his gf Kaleisha. also bonus points because i loved the quotes used in the opening page!! let’s get more authors curating quotes that relate to the book please and thank you!
