This second installment of The Royals and Romance series by Sara Raasch was hilariously charming, and I absolutely devoured every minute of it. This book brought me so much joy! This was the perfect book to welcome in the upcoming Spring season and an excellent choice to read going into the St. Patrick’s Day 💚☘️ 💚holiday. This would be a great pick for those just needing a fun, cute, holiday and joy-filled good time. This was all vibes! I highly recommended this book if you’re in a reading slump and just need a good old fashioned magically charming romance.

I’m sad this book didn’t work for me. It’s getting three stars because it was a fairly fast read, but somehow it felt slow at the same time. The ending was pretty predictable and this comes from someone who hates trying to unravel the plot or guess the twist.

I really needed a good fun and spicy book to break up the monotony of some of my recent reads, so I’ve been saving this book for this specific occasion. This was exactly what I needed: a fun, entertaining, easy, and hilariously cute book. I absolutely LOVED the TV series, and I knew I needed to read the book. This was such a good time!

What was really enjoyable was Ilya. He is one of the most adorable characters! He was just as funny in the book as he was in the show, and I’m so happy a lot of it was included in the show. The one thing I wanted though was more backstory and a tad bit more character depth. The TV series pretty much was an exact duplicate of the book, which I don’t mind, but I would’ve wanted to know more about both Shane and Ilya after watching the show. Still a solid book, and I absolutely loved every bit of it!

Thankfully, I really enjoyed this book, it was giving Billy and Ted’s Excellent adventure but in the future with bits of Pacific Rim, and I loved both of those movies. It also felt like an action packed version of A Psalm for The Wild Built by Becky Chambers. I’m glad I gave Matt Dinniman a shot, and I so happy I enjoyed this stand-alone. I’m excited to dive into his Dungeon Crawler Carl series now that I know I love this writing style.

A fun popcorn thriller. A very gripping, unique, and entertaining page-turner. I was not at all emotionally connected to the characters, and had to suspend my disbelief for most of this book. Overall, if you’re looking for a fun ride, this would be a good one.

I appreciated the themes of this book and loved the atmospheric melancholic tone. This book was effective in tackling familial trauma, the messiness and strength it takes to acknowledge one’s personal demons, all while simultaneously dealing with grief. I did however, at times, have problems with the pacing and the redundancy with the writing, it made it hard to connect deeply with the characters. Overall a good book, but probably one I will forget.

Entertaining. Funny. Charming. Overall, a fun book to read but nothing new. Lottie was a loveable character, but I’m afraid this won’t be a book I’ll remember.
