Unfortunately for myself, this was worst than the first book when it came to flushing out the plot points and explaining key events. Some things were just mentioned once to never be brought back and it was frustrating. However, I do love the main characters in this book so I kept reading simply for them even if I had unanswered questions. I am hoping if there is a book for each Heathen we get it all laid out and the story fits into place better. Just alot of things that didn't make sense or things that should have carried over from book 1 just didn't and it made it hard to read when you know what should be happening but it just doesn't. Didn't love it or hate it, it was fine. Could have been better. (Side note, I was not really a fan of the story inside of a story thing going on, just give me the main story and say the characters read a book together and give us the plot points that mattered. Of course that's my own opinion. I'm sure others loved that.)

I did like the characters and idea of the storyline. Some people just seemed to be lost or forgotten after introduction, some plot points never seemed completely explained, a bit was missing overall. I did connect with characters which is what kept me reading as I wanted to see what they would do next even if sometimes it seemed major events were glossed over.
