Honestly, it's really annoying when the main character constantly mentions her weight. I was hoping it wouldn't be an issue in this book since the MFC in the previous book also dealt with body image issues/mentioned her weight ALOT, so I thought "surely not every woman in this series will have the same body type AND be insecure about it...". With that being said, I still enjoyed this book even more than the first one! I found it to be even more funny (and was honestly even tickled by a few of the murder scenes). I think Nero and King's banter might be even better than the banter between them and their significant other's as well- solid gold! There was also more of a connection with the side characters in this book, and I definitely got more of a "found family" vibe. So I am definitely excited to continue the series! ♡

Ahhhhhh, what do I even say about this book? The angst 🤌🏻 the drama 🤌🏻 the smut 🤌🏻 all the feelings 🤌🏻

I love being pleasantly surprised by books when I branch out into tropes that I didn't think I'd like! I wasn't sure this book would be my cup of tea based off the description, but I trusted the reviews and went for it; and I'm SO glad I did!

Don't hate me! I always try to push myself to read entire series and don't skip any books even if they're not my cup of tea because... it's just satisfying to me. However, in the interest of trying to just read more of what I want to in the new year, I think I'm done with this series. I might come back to it later if my brain won't let it go.

You know the book is good when I don't even stop to take any notes during reading! I barely stopped to so much as eat during this one, I was hooked! I definitely didn't expect to love this one as much as I did considering the stepbrother trope, and I wasn't planning on reading the entire series... but now I think I will 🥵
