Hi all, small announcement that streaks were just released on web! We're considering this a sort of "streaks beta" to iron out the kinks before we release on the app (which, fingers crossed, will be available before the end of the week)
You'll see a streak widget on the home feed above your currently reading books. You can edit your past reading history & progress updates by clicking that widget. You can still track progress for today's date as you always have, by clicking the progress bar.
If you have questions about how things work, please click the helper text at the bottom of the edit screen (it says "Missing a book or need help?") or comment here so we can help troubleshoot. If you see a bug, please report via the bug form!
Thanks everyone :)

As this is a piece of nonfiction, I chose not to utilize the character and plot ratings. I donât feel comfortable taking peoples experiences, especially after a disaster with far-reaching implications of Hurricane Katrina that are still felt to this day, and reducing them to a star rating system. The way in which the government at the local and national levels has let down New Orleans and the people of Louisiana in the wake of Hurricane Katrina ( and even to this day, as people continue to feel the aftermath of the apathy ) is insidious, to say the least. I had a vague awareness before, but knowing the darker depths of inaction is horrifying.

I fear I read this book too late to enjoy it. I am so completely disenchanted with any colonial power that I just canât bring myself to be giddy and hopeful about the first son and spare prince falling in love.
I love the characters. I still love Casey McQuiston. Unfortunately, so much has changed since this was written in 2019 that the tone is completely off.

â How do you survive when they place a god inside your body? â
This snippet also serves as the foundation for this novel in all of its spiritual and reflective teachings. Simultaneously as excruciating as a festering wound and beautiful like a babbling brook, Freshwater confronts the ideas of embodiment, gbanje, and the experiences of Ada from childhood to adulthood. Overall, this novel will rip you open at the core and, in many ways, serve as a balm. Akwaeke Emeziâs storytelling flows forward like a never-ending river, capturing us within both its serene and turbulent flows.
